The Salisbury Fire Department stations 16 and 1, as well as Station 3 Fruitland were alerted for a structure fire just before 6pm on February 8th on Hall Drive. Assistant Chief 1, (Tull), arrived on location with a single story, wood frame home with smoke and fire showing on side A. Occupant reported he was preparing to fry fish when he walked away to use the restroom; when he returned to the kitchen, the grease in the pan was on fire. The occupant attempted to extinguish the fire by placing a second pan on top, without success. Engine 16-1 crew advanced a handline through the front door and began suppression operations. Engine 1 advanced a back-up line into the structure and assisted Engine 16-1. Truck 1 was requested to remove the gable and vents.
