MVC With Rescue on the Salisbury Bypass December 17, 2009 – Salisbury Fire Department Stations 16 and 2 were alerted for a reported rescue on the Salisbury Bypass just before noon on the 17th. 16-23, (Gordy), arrived on scene POV and reported a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle in the median strip. The tractor trailer had impacted the passenger vehicle in the A, B and C post on the driver’s side. The crew of Paramedic 2 completed initial assessments and performed rapid removal of one patient due to severity of injuries. The crews of Paramedic 16 and Rescue 16 removed the driver. No hydraulic tools were needed, as personnel were able to remove both victims from the passenger side. Patients were transported to PRMC by Salisbury Paramedic 2 and 16.
