MVC with Rescue - Naylor Mill Road & Salisbury Bypass

Salisbury Fire Department Stations 16 and 2 were alerted for a reported MVC with rescue just prior to 2 pm, Monday, August 16th. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief 1, (Tull), found a two vehicle T-bone style MVC involving a passenger vehicle and a large box truck. The passenger vehicle had sustained extensive damage to the front of the vehicle causing the driver to be thrown from the front seat, landing in the rear seat where she became entrapped. The box truck sustained extensive damage to the driver's side rear causing the truck to rollover, coming to rest on the passenger side. Two small children had been removed from the passenger vehicle prior to SFD units' arrival.
Engine 16 arrived on location, placed a handline in service and began to assist EMS with patient care. Rescue 16 arrived on location, stabilized the vehicle and began extrication operations by removing the roof and doors. Salisbury Fire Department EMS transported a total of three patients to PRMC ER, including one priority 1.
Crews remained on scene for clean-up, before leaving the scene to police. SFD crews returned without incident.
