Departmental Rescue Training - Delmarva Recyclying
Monday, November 22, 2010
The Salisbury Fire Department has been completing monthly training at Delmarva Recycling during the month of November. This month's topic, vehicle extrication, has been the focus for each shift and volunteer component as they practice new skills and techniques for safely extricating patients from damaged vehicles.
Crews worked with many different types of vehicles, as well as many different ways a vehicle could be involved in a collision: vehicles upright, on their roof and their sides. Crews worked together seemlessly to remove and package "victims" for transport.
These exercises are extraordinarily beneficial to our department and we thank Delmarva Recycling for the opportunity of allowing us to train at their facility.
