Salisbury Assist Fruitland On A Building Fire - Old Eden Rd
Wednesday, July 3, 2013
At 0707 hours Sta. 1 was alerted, along with Sta. 3 and Sta. 15 for a building fire on Old Eden Road in Fruitland. First arriving units confirmed a working fire in a drying kiln used to dry large wooden poles and pilings. Command was established by AC Twilley (Sta. 3) and a Tanker Task Force was requested. This brought E16 to the scene as a draft engine. TK-1 arrived and began forcible entry and suppression efforts. Crews worked together to advance multiple lines and attack the fire, while a Water Supply Command was established. E16 travelled about a half-mile down the road and established a draft to supply tankers. Crews worked for over two hours at the incident. There was an organized team effort, by multiple departments from various counties, to bring the incident under control.
