Salisbury Fire Department

Right around 1730 hours, just as Truck 2 was giving Lt. Rathel his ceremonial retirement ride home from work the alarm was sounded for a reported house on fire at 1108 E. Church St. Engine 2 arrived with their own hydrant next door to the address, with nothing evident from the exterior. Engine 16 arrived securing their own hydrant, as Truck 2 arrived and took position on side A. Engine 2 advanced a line to the front door when the officer investigated and found a small fire on the floor and up a wall in a bedroom upstairs. crews extinguished the same and command was under control in about 10 minutes.
