Salisbury Fire Department

For more than two decades, the Salisbury Fire Department has assisted Al Moessinger (aka Ronald McDonald) in delivering fire safety messages during Fire Prevention Week.  This past Tuesday the 8th, that tradition continued as Ronald and the Salisbury Fire Department visited Pemberton and Chipman Elementary Schools.

Lessons such as Stop, Drop & Roll, Exit Drills In The Home (EDITH) and how to test a smoke alarm were taught to the students from these as well as neighboring schools.  A colorful mixture of humor, education, music, and showmanship combine to teach important messages that the children can pass on to their parents, grandparents and siblings.  The lessons learned are not only pertinent during Fire Prevention Week, but every week of the year.
