On Tuesday, December 17, 2013, members from D-Shift participated in a confined space rescue drill. The drill simulated the rescue and removal of a trapped victim in a confined space below grade. During the drill, personnel set up an entry system using a tripod and winch. Personnel who were certified Confined Space Rescue Technicians donned the appropriate PPE and prepared to make entry as those who were not Technicians acted as support and ensured the security of the system. Sequentially the Technicians worked to effectively rescue the trapped victim in teams of two as well as individually. Pictures are attached.
