At 0217 hrs on January 26^th Stations 2 and 16 were alerted for a reported MVC with entrapment at the intersection of Truitt St. and Brown St. PM2 arrived on location and confirmed entrapment. E2 arrived on location with a single vehicle into a tree and fencing. Crew of PM2 was able to quickly remove the driver of the vehicle and transported the patient to PRMC. The passenger was found to be severely trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 16 arrived on scene and began extrication. Command requested a tow truck to the location to assist with freeing the vehicle from the tree to gain better access to the remaining patient. Crews removed the roof and driver’s side door for removal of the patient. Due to the extent of the patient’s entrapment, a lengthy extrication was needed, taking 1 hour and 20 minutes. The patient was then transported to PRMC. Units picked up and scene was turned over to SPD.
