Retired Deputy Fire Chief W. Thomas Lewis was honored on Sunday March 6, 2016 with good food and fellowship. Deputy Chief Lewis became a Volunteer Firefighter in 1965 at SFD Station 2. He became a Career Firefighter in 1966. He served the SFD as a Firefighter, Captain, Assistant Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, and Acting Fire Chief. He retired in 2001 after serving the City of Salisbury for 36 years. Deputy Chief Lewis came today to speak about the Salisbury Fire Department past, present, and future. He passed on to “continue your education during your service". The Salisbury Fire Department thanks Retired Deputy Fire Chief W. Thomas Lewis for his dedication and service to the City of Salisbury.
