Salisbury Fire Department

Members of the SFD spent time today drilling on their forcible entry skills.  Members utilized basic hand tools to manipulate inward and outward opening steel doors.  Skillful use of these tools and tactics allow rapid entry into burning structures, allowing hose crews to make a more rapid attack on a fire.  Rapid placement of water on a fire reduces the overall damage to the structure involved as well as lessens the threat level to firefighters working inside the structure.
