Friday, July 8, 2016

At around 1130 hrs Salisbury Station 16,2 and Hebron Station 5 were alerted for a house fire in the 2000 block of Log Cabin Rd. Asst. Chief 1 (Donaway) Special requested the tanker from Salisbury Station 1 and 74 since it was a non hydrant area. Asst. Chief 1 arrived and advised he had smoke coming from the attic of a single story single family. Truck 2 arrived and stretched a attack line through the front door and made a quick nock on the fire in the rear of the house. Engine 16 arrived and stretched a 2nd attack line for back up and completed a primary search of the residence finding a unconscious dog in the rear. They quickly removed the unconscious animal from the residence and applied oxygen via a dog oxygen mask. After a short time the dog was revived and was breathing on his own. The fire was quickly placed under control and units remained on scene for extensive overhaul. The dog was transported via animal control to Pet ER in Salisbury. No other injuries were reported
