Our Junior Fire Academy wrapped up another great year! Just last week, the Salisbury Fire Department hosted a week-long summer camp for young adults to learn about the fire service. Our students gained knowledge of our equipment and SCBA use, search and rescue techniques, community service and so much more!
At the end of the week, we invite their families to a graduation ceremony. Our students presented one thing they learned during camp. The presentations included demonstrations on performing CPR, SCBA use and turn out gear basics. The students then received encouraging words and completion certificates from Chief John Tull and Mayor Jake Day.
The SFD enjoys hosting Junior Fire Academy every year. A huge thank you to everyone who assisted in making JFA a huge success. It would not be possible without our volunteers. See you next year!
