Salisbury Fire Department

On May 19th, 2012 Wicomico Central contacted the on-duty Asst. Chief and advised of a possible grenade located in the Food Lion parking lot on Tilghman Rd. SPD and SFD units responded and investigated to find, what appeared to be a hand grenade, with the pin pulled. Crews requested the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office to have one of their bomb technician respond. SFD and SPD units barricaded off the area and shut all business down in the shopping center. FM 83 arrived, via Trooper 7, and donned his 'bomb suit' to enter the hot zone. After an investigation and analyzing the device, it was determined that the device was not live. Units cleared the scene shortly after.
