Another Shift, Another Fire for B Shift - 706 Richmond Ave

At 0247 stations 16, 2 and 1 were alerted for a reported house on fire on the west side of town. Engine 16 responded with 3 personel, along with the assistant chief and medic from 16. Assistant chief Donaway arrived with a 1 1/2 story single family wood frame with nothing evident from the street. Engine 16 arrived and took position just short of the address and investigated. The officer forced the front door and smoke began to push out. The lineman advanced the front bumper line and along with the officer, began a push to find the fire. Truck 2 and Engine Tanker 1 arrived. Truck 2 laddered the structure while the driver of engine tanker 1 ran a 3" line to engine 16 to supply it. The crew of engine tanker 1 pulled the second bumper line off engine 16 and checked the attic space. Engine 16 found and extinguished the fire which was contained to the occupants bedroom. Damage was valued at approx. 30,000. Last units cleared at 0500.
