Salisbury Fire Department

0028 hours station 16 was alerted for a tractor trailer on fire at the Perdue Plant. Engine 16 arrived and confirmed fire showing from a refrigeration trailer. The crew quickly stretched an attack line and extinguished the fire on the outside of the unit then proceeded to extinguish the interior. The Truck from 16 was special called to assist with overhaul of the interior of the trailer. The trailer at the time had 7 pallets of frozen chicken and the fire had gotten behind the insulation in the trailer. Crews remained on-scene for about an hour. 22B Lt. Derbyshire had command.
