Extrication Resulting from Overturned Vehicle

On Sunday March 30, shortly after lunch, the Salisbury Fire Department was alerted for a MVC with entrapment on Riverside Dr.  The assignment brought units from Stations 16 and 1.  Upon arrival, Assistant Chief 2 (Black) found a single vehicle that had struck a power pole before overturning onto the bank of the Wicomico River with two occupants still inside.  Assistant Chief 1 (Records) had Operations and formulated an IAP while the crews of R16 and E16 quickly completed initial stabilization.  Fire Police from Station 3 (Fruitland) were requested for traffic control as Riverside Dr was to be shut down for a lengthy period of time.  Upon arrival of T1 and ET1-1, crews assisted with the extrication of the patients.  EMS conducted assessments and care with only one patient being transported to PRMC.  Crews picked up and the scene wa sturned over to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.
