2014 Fire Prevention Week Comes To A Close
Friday, October 10, 2014

The 2014 Fire Prevention Week activities for the SFD ended on a strong note on Friday 10 October 2014.  The Fire Prevention Task Force delivered its safety presentation to Pemberton Elementary and Chipman Elementary second grade children as well as delivered fire prevention activity books and pencils to Glen Ave, Salisbury School, Salisbury Christian School, North Salisbury, East Salisbury, East Salisbury, and Prince St schools.  On duty crews visited Asbury and PRMC child care facilities and attended fire drills.

It has been both a very productive day and an extremely productive week.  To date, for the week of Mon 6 October through Friday 10 October, the SFD has interacted with  2,325 children, ranging in age from toddlers to 8 years old, and 235 adults.  That's a lot of work in one week's time.  Further interactions are planned in the next couple of weeks to accommodate those facilities who were unavailable this week.  Hopefully, these individuals will assist the department by helping to spread its fire safety message.

Many thanks to all the shifts and volunteer personnel who assisted with this week's activities!  Job Well Done!
