Afternoon House Fire - North Westover Drive, Salisbury

Salisbury Fire Department Stations 16, 2 and 1 were alerted for a reported house fire on North Westover Drive just prior to 3:30pm on February 4th. Crews arrived within two minutes of dispatch and found a single story, wood frame structure with smoke showing from all four sides and fire showing from side D. Assistant Chief 1, (Tull), established Command; all occupants were reported out of the structure. Engine 16-1 established a water supply with LDH and advanced a handline through the front door located on Side A. Truck 2 performed vertical ventilation on Side C. Engine 1 established an alternate water supply with LDH and then placed a back-up line in service. The fire was contained to a bedroom area located on the “CD” corner. Command requested the Red Cross and the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office to respond to the scene. All crews returned to service without incident.
