Fire Contained to Kitchen - Lancaster Court, Salisbury

Salisbury Fire Department Stations 2, 1 and 16 were alerted for a structure fire on Lancaster Court just before noon on January 29th. Paramedic 2 arrived on location advised of smoke coming from the roof. AC1, (Tull), arrived on location with a single story wood frame home with smoke showing from all four sides and fire visible from side C; Command was established. Engine 2 arrived and advanced a handline to the front door. Personnel performed forcible entry and found fir elocated in the kitchen area. Engine 16 pulled a second line and backed up the initial line. Crews knocked the fire quickly; the situation was placed under control within ten minutes of being on scene. The crew of Truck 1 performed overhaul and established positive pressure ventilation. The fire was contained to the kitchen/utility room area. No extension was found in the attic area. Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to the scene. All units returned to service without incident.
