Engine 16 and Medic 1 were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Nanticoke Rd car reported on its side. Prior to units arriving, the call was upgraded to a Recue Box bringing Assistant Chief 1 (Donaway), Deputy Chief 2 (Smith) Rescue 16, Truck 2, and Medic 162. Medic 1 arrived and advised the accident was in the parking lot of the Pecan Square Shopping Center next to Ledos Pizza. The crew reported 3 vehicles involved with one vehicle over turned and one person trapped. Assist Chief 1 arrived and assumed the command. Engine 16 arrived and stretched a hand line for protection and stabilized the vehicle for extrication. Rescue 16 arrived and was directed by Captain Jester to prepare for a roof flap. The crews made quick work of the roof and removed the patient from the vehicle. The patient was assessed by the crew from Medic 1, the patient was determined to only have minor injuries and refused care. The other two vehicles involved in the crash were unoccupied at the time of the collision and no one was injured. Crews were on the scene for about an hour.
